The file conversion site and the drawbacks of using this option

The downside is that you will give away your data to a 3rd party site using this process.

So whatever file you choose, please make sure it is not business confidential nor has information that could compromise your business.

First of all go to this site.

Just follow the steps of selecting the file from your computer.

For Step 1, I saved mine on the desktop so I could immediately locate it.

For Step 2, I chose the format to convert the file to. Select .doc or .docx Word and .xls and .xlsx for Excel so it may convert the file.

For step 3, type in your email address and then press convert for step 4. That’s it!

convert .ods .odt to .xls and .doc

Converting files from .ods and .odt  to .xls, .xlsx and .csv

You will receive an email as soon as the file has been converted from one format to another. I waited about 2-3 minutes for mine to arrive. If the file is small, it will be almost instantaneous. Don’t forget that your outlook might be set to receive emails every X minutes. If so, force the application to send and receive emails

Don’t forget to check your SPAM folder if you don’t receive a confirmation within the hour.

You will receive a sales type of email, but it’s a small price to pay for free file conversion.

In addition unless you sign up for an account you will have to DOWNLOAD the file. As the document is not an .exe or application file you ought not have a problem downloading and saving the file.

Inside the email it will remind you what format the file was in, and which format you requested the file to be changed to.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet
effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance. I must say you have done a fantastic job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Opera. Superb Blog!

I don’t know whether it’s just me or if everyone else encountering issues with your site.
It seems like some of the written text in your posts are running off the screen.
Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is
happening to them as well? This may be a problem with my browser because I’ve had this happen before. Thank you

    • hi Jane..

the site is responsive so I think the problem is your end. it works fine with mobile devices. the only problem one might get is pictures not being resized if they are hosted on third party sites.

I get several thousand visitors a week and this the only complaint I’ve received.
